To get better services for welfare recipients in Chicago
to get a senior citizens home repaired in Chicago
the fight on an abandonned house in San Francisco and how this produced new leadership
to prevent the construction of a soccer stadium in Munich's Olympic Village before the World championship 2006

What are the barriers to successful community organizing in this country? How can we overcome these barriers?:

Too many groups, too many agendas, too much church involvement (which is not considered an NGO), more coalitions are needed, issues like environment have to be tackled much more

Are you still in organizing? If not, in what other fields have you worked? What are you doing now?:

I'm a journalist in Munich, Germany, and involved in many fields of volunteer and organizing work, for example I'm one of the co-founders of the World Federation of Science Journalists which pursues the "empowerment" of readers, listeners, viewers, users. So many things I'm involved in still revolve around organizing and its philosophy one way or the other
