I was an officer in CORE in Cincinnati in late sixties when our chapter was directed to do community organizing. Our first issue was a slum building which was own by the county republican party chair. Occupants rents went into escrow. The women got eviction notices. We lost in court;all were evicted. I said to myself ' there must be a better way', so off to Chicago with a grant from the Presbyterian Church.

Leaders are developed through action.
Organizations of diverse ethnic and racial groups are built by finding an enemy they all hate more than each other.
Stay clear o movements, they are best left to the bathroom.
